Eastern cake with turmeric
Preparation time: 120 min
Ingredients:
0,5 kg wheat flour
60 g raisins
1 tsp vanilla sugar
½ glass milk
60 g yeast
2 shots high percentage alcohol
½ glass sugar
60 g caramelized
salt
1 pack unsalted butter
orange zest
½ tsp turmeric
12 egg yolks
Method:
Pour the alcohol on turmeric and leave for 1 hour. Mixed
yeast with 1 tablespoon sugar and stir in warm milk, add 100g flour
and mix well together. Cover and leave until mixture begins to grow.
When the mixture has doubled its size add egg yolks mixed
with sugar, remaining flour, vanilla sugar and pinch of salt. Knead
for 20 minutes. Then add melted butter, raisins, orange zest, turmeric
with alcohol and knead for a while. Grease the baking tin with butter
and sprinkle with flour. Then pour the dough on the baking tin (1/3
of its high) and leave to expand. When the dough fills ¾
of the baking tray put into the preheated oven (1800) for 50-60
minutes.
