| Indian Cuisine
Indian cuisine is full of colours, aromas and flavours.
Each dish smells with cumin, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, saffron and
nutmeg. These spices are used for the preparation of every dish,
including the most famous one – curry.
Indian cuisine is based on matching opposite flavours, such as hot
and sweet tastes.
The biggest difference between Indian and European cuisine is the
way of serving – in Indian cuisine dishes are served on 1
plate in European on separate plates, one dish after another.
Did you know that…?
- Instead of bread Indians eat chapatti – a wheat flour
pancake, which is also used as a spoon.
- India is divided into four culinary regions based on religious
differences:
North – Muslim cuisine
South – Madras cuisine
West – Bombay cuisine and Goa
